MAJELLA is a singer/songwriter from Coromandel, with German and Dutch roots. She already discovered her love for music as a teenager, and started writing her own songs at age 10 - inspired by personal life and love experiences, observations, feelings and thoughts about various topics.  

 

"For me it’s never been about reading music, it’s always been about feeling it. My lyrics and melodies are like the poetry of my senses.” - Majella

 

After graduating from high-school in 2015, she embarked on a solo journey, traveling through Europe and financing the trip through busking and later on also working as a hotel singer and entertainer on the islands of Cyprus and Crete.

 

Majella’s songs are very honest and direct, lyrically and thematically sometimes perhaps even a little provocative, but with a strong emotional feel, which is expressed through her soulful timbre. 

 

She explains: "I always want to stay true to myself and stay true to what I feel and who I am. I am not ashamed to make honest music - because I believe that all aspects of existence and being can contribute or serve as a source of inspiration - sadness, anger, joy, love, sexuality - and every other emotion and facet of existence are all a valid part of life and what makes us human. I'd love to inspire other people to be themselves unapologetically and musically offer something that others can identify or maybe connect with on some level.”

 

Majella makes music for all the dreamers, the lovers, the wild ones and perhaps the lost souls who are looking for a certain inexplainable resonance and connection which only sound and songs directly from the heart can evoke and bring to life.
